CASE 1: Missing lateral, other lateral removed for ortho. (ABO Case) CASE 1: maxillary lateral extracted, CASE 2: surgical Class III, showing pre-surgical decompensation, CASE 3: bilateral cleft lip and palate with free pre-maxilla. CASE 4: maxillary molars placed next to maxillary cuspids.
This is a case in which I removed a perfectly good maxillary left lateral incisor. The Patient, LM, was missing a maxillary right lateral. She was a little crowded. This was an early treatment case, having a first and second phase. You can see from the initial ceph below that she has significant and excessive overjet and overbite. The primary objective of the first phase was to correct most of this. The lateral was not extracted until the second phase. The first phase was started when LM was nine years old, 7/31/79 and lasted twelve months until 9/10/80. An unsuccessful attempt was made to get the patient to wear a removable appliance. Cooperation was not very good for this first phase.
